Dear Friends,

Easter Friday’s sermon title is “It’s Friday, but Sunday is Coming! because Easter is about the work of Jesus in His death and resurrection and how He has overcome our enemies. 1Corinthians 15:22-26

One of these enemies the Bible calls the “flesh”. The flesh is the imperfect physical body prone to suffering by sickness, disease pain and death. It is our minds that are limited, unable to attain the potential every human has, constantly falling into erroneous thinking and reasoning, especially concerning the things of God. It is our emotions that get all mixed up and out of control, making life hard when we say and do things driven by these fallen emotions.

The work of Jesus in His life, death and resurrection is to restore those who are His followers to what God intended, and then some. “. . . . No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” 1Corinthians 2:9

We look forward to the time when we will be restored perfectly and in the meantime we, as Paul put it in Romans 8:23 “. . . groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies”.

No matter who you are, you are imperfect in what the Bible terms your “flesh”. But, Jesus has come to change your flesh so you will be like Him. Perfect in every way: physically, mentally, emotionally.

Though you may be “. . . groan(ing) inwardly” remember it’s Friday, but Sunday is coming!!! as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.”

Thank God for a Saviour who could claim, “I am the resurrection and the life.”

Yours in His Victory
