Mark Horsburgh

Deacon (Church Secretary)

Mark has been attending Moore Park Baptist Church since 1995 and has held a variety of roles on our Eldership and Diaconate since then. Currently serving as our Church Secretary, he is responsible for all administrative requirements of the church and works closely with the Pastor and Treasurer to ensure the daily operations of the church can run smoothly.

Since becoming a member of Moore Park Baptist Church in August 1997, Mark has served as our secretary for three periods, each for a few years, as well as being an Elder for three separate terms. Now, his role involves preparing our annual reports, overseeing the maintenance of the church property, preparing agendas for all official meetings and maintaining the register of members as well as overseeing our financial position.

In his professional life, Mark was a patent attorney for 30 years as well as owning his own business. He has a PhD, an MBA and a BSc from a range of Universities. Mark has been married to his wife, Adele, since 1985 and together they have two adult children, one living in London and the other locally here in Brisbane.In his private life, Mark enjoys competitive field hockey and since his retirement has begun to have more time for his second passion, fishing.

Stacey Kerr

Deacon (Assistant Treasurer)

Stacey joined our Diaconate in December 2020 as Assistant Treasurer. She has a range of skills in finance and has also been regularly involved in a range of other ministries at Moore Park Baptist Church including our worship team and assisting in the planning of events.

Stacey began attending Moore Park Baptist Church in November 2012 after moving to Brisbane for an occupation in Campus Ministry at one of Brisbane’s local universities. She began assisting our treasurer during the middle of 2018 before being officially voted into the Diaconate a few years later.

When Stacey is not helping us crunch the numbers, she enjoys the social activities organised by our church as well as events held at her workplace. Stacey is often found in a Japanese restaurant and is an avid lover of fruity bubble teas.

Jenn BT

Deacon (Assistant Church Secretary)

Jenn joined Moore Park Baptist Church in 2021, and was elected to join the Diaconate in 2022 as the Assistant Secretary. Her role involves assisting the Secretary with reports, agendas and overseeing the daily operations of the church.

Since arriving in Brisbane in 2001, from Singapore, as a University student at QUT, Jenn brings plenty of experience to her role. Currently working as a Project Controller with Jacobs Engineering, Jenn has her hands full also looking after her young family.

In her spare time, Jenn likes to spend time with her husband and daughter, as well as organise social events for her work family and traditional Chinese dance group. With family and friends all over the world, Jenn enjoys staying in touch with those in Singapore, New Zealand, Ireland, UK and Germany.

Alasdair Drew

Deacon

Alasdair has been attending Moore Park Baptist Church for over 25 years and has served across a variety of ministries in his time. Whilst currently a member of the diaconate, he has also served in our children’s ministries as well as on the Missions committee.

Alasdair’s commitment to serving extends beyond Moore Park Baptist Church as he also serves on the Board of Capernwray Australia, a bible college in New South Wales. He has been self-employed for over 15 years and has been working in the office hardware and consumables industry for that time.

Alasdair was born and raised in Brisbane’s western suburbs and has built his life here. Along with his wife, Karen, together they have had two sons and spend as much time together outdoors as they can. In his spare time, Alasdair enjoys camping, hiking and fishing as well as watching NRL.

Greg Hutchins

Deacon

Greg has been attending Moore Park Baptist Church for over 8 years and became a member in 2017. He is in his third two-year term serving as part of the diaconate. Greg mainly focuses on the safety and property maintenance aspects of the church.

Greg grew up in a Methodist/Uniting church family is a small Victorian country two. He became a Christian as a teenager, attending an Easter convention at Belgrave Heights in Victoria.

Greg has been married to his wife, Glenda, since 1975 and together they have two adult sons, Tim & Ben. They also have one grandchild, Jordan. Greg was an avid tennis player for many years, and now enjoys watching sport, reading, walking, travelling and anything DIY. Retiring in July 2019, after over 50 years of working in the manufacturing industry, he now spends much of him time with his family.

Greg began working as a trainee chemist at Kraft Foods and studied applied science part-time at RMIT. He then subsequently worked in the food packaging sector in technical, quality and environmental management roles and for the last ten years, at Brickworks Building Products in divisional, state & national WHS Management positions. Along the way, Greg also completed a Grad Diploma in Quality Mgt at RMIT, a Diploma in WHS and various certificates in systems audit, training and manufacturing.

Jonathan Pragasam

Deacon

Jonathan has been attending Moore Park Baptist Church since 2018 and been a member since 2020. He is married to his wife Joyce since 2001 and together we have 2 kids, Joe and Jessica.

Jonathan accepted Christ as his personal Savior when he was 19 while attending Bible Studies in College in India. Since then he has lived his life as His disciple and tries to direct his family in the same way.

Jonathan had the opportunity in serving the Church that he attended in Middle East, Oman. In various aspects such as, Worship leader, drummer, co-ordinating the kids fellowship and as a Director of Summer School in Church.

He was an athlete in his school and College days and an active member of a Cricket Club.

Andrew Pitchford

Deacon

Andrew and his wife, Cheryl, have been attending Moore Park Baptist Church since 2021. With a love for all things media and creative, Andrew is looking forward to telling the stories that come from the people at Moore Park Baptist and their journeys of faith.

Andrew is a Yorkshire born, Kiwi raised Australian. With Cheryl and their now four adult children, they have lived in Australia in two ‘stints’ as Andrew travelled with his work in Christian Media.

Andrew spent 20 years in Australia and New Zealand with the Christian Media group UCB under the Radio Rhema organisation in New Zealand and with Vision Christian Media in Australia. Today he acts as a Marketing Consultant with Brisbane agency, Excite Media, helping business owners navigate and optimised their digital marketing strategy.

Andrew became a Christian in 1978 and has an open book approach to talking about experiences of life, sometimes ups and sometimes downs, but always with gratefulness.

Cheryl has worked as a carer in different organisations and continues to love working with others in need.

Now settled in Collingwood Park, Andrew and Cheryl enjoy time as busy grandparents, they love spending time in travel and picking up a movie now and then.
