New To Church?

First of all - Welcome

We recognise that for some people coming to church for the first time can be a little scary, but here is what to expect when you visit Moore Park Baptist Church.

FAQ's

If you are new to church we hope that some of the below FAQ’s are helpful for you. If there is anything further you hope to know, please feel free to contact us.

Anything that you are comfortable wearing.  Some in our church choose to wear the type of clothes that you may wear to go to a nice restaurant, but others come in shorts and thongs.  Just a word of warning we have air conditioning and so bear that in mind if you get cold easily.

Yes, we have a Sunday school which runs during school term times.  If your child does not want to go to Sunday School, they are welcome in the service.  If your child makes a noise please do not worry, stay in the service if you are happy to do so, or you can listen to the service outside.

As you would expect, we do require you to register your child before attending, you can do this by either following this link, printing and filling out a hard copy or the leader of the ministry will be able to provide you with the form on the day.

Yes. All our volunteers who work with children or vulnerable adults and staff hold a current blue card. We have trained First Aiders on site. All staff and volunteers undertake child safe training on a yearly basis.

Nothing, if you want to sit and just watch that is fine. If you want to join in that is great, normally someone at the front will give instructions about what happens next but if not sit at the back and follow along, you will see that people do different things when we are singing etc.

You are welcome to take communion as long as you are a Christian, it is between you and God whether you are at a place when communion should be taken.

No. There will be an offering but that is optional, we are just glad you are here.

In the morning services the service normally starts with a time of worship and prayer followed by a sermon, which lasts no longer than 30 minutes and we end in song.  On the first Sunday of the month, we celebrate communion, which is open to anyone who has accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour.  Sometimes we have different morning services which are more interactive.  After the service we normally have morning tea.

In the evening the services are less formal and more interactive.  There will normally be some worship and on the first Sunday we will have communion.  The teaching is normally more interactive with debates, Q and A and small and larger group discussion.  We normally eat together during the service or just after.

No.  If you have a question which we haven’t answered please do not hesitate to contact us, pastor@moorepark.org.au or office@moorepark.org.au

Message from Pastor Mark

Welcome to our church. Thank you so much for visiting our website and I hope you take the time to learn more about us and our family. Our mission at Moore Park Baptist Church is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, transforming lives and discipling those who choose to follow Christ. We are a church of action, that seeks to demonstrate Christ’s love in our wider community, by being mission focused. Along with my wife, Lois, we have been serving at Moore Park Baptist Church since 2021, and have seen first-hand the Christ-centred nature of this community. Through Christ’s strength, we hope to continue to draw near to Him and fulfil the journey that God has for us and this church.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:7

We walk by faith, not by sight.

We’d love for you to come and join us as we grow together as disciples of Christ and seek to serve our wider community.
